Senior Corporate Tax Manager

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Join a highly respected and leading corporate tax advisory practice based in Solihull. Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax is looking to hire a Senior Corporate Tax Manager to join our growing team. Within this role there will be great opportunities for progression, expanding your technical abilities and working side by side with leading industry professionals. The job will involve:  

  • Leading advisory assignments including company reconstructions, mergers, and acquisitions, share scheme advice and venture capital schemes.

  • Training and leading a team of junior staff on large client projects, as well as contributing to the development of technical knowledge within the wider team.
  • Being the main contact for technical queries from clients and other advisors. 

  • Working closely with the directors on business development activities to identify opportunities for existing clients and target opportunities for new clients.

  • Developing your personal brand with a view to becoming a recognised expert within the tax community in your particular specialism.

  • Expanding your network, with opportunities to attend and speak in webinars, seminars and other networking events.


Skills and Qualifications Required:


  • CTA or appropriate equivalent qualification (e.g. ICAS tax qualification).
  • Relevant post qualification experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Highly motivated and committed to continuous learning and development.

VAT Director

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Join a highly respected and leading tax advisory practice based in Solihull. Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax are hiring for a VAT director to join our growing team. Within this role there will be great opportunities for developing a team of VAT specialists and making the role your own. You will be working side by side with leading corporate tax professionals. Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax are an organisation that promotes inclusivity and diversity, valuing communication, teamwork and collaboration whilst prioritising a healthy work life balance.

The job will involve: 

  • Providing VAT support and advice to our clients as required, including VAT reporting and technical assignments. Could include:
  • Providing VAT advisory services to the Jerroms Miller client base who typically consist of accountants, tax advisors and solicitors.
  • Working closely with the corporate tax team in overseeing VAT aspects of Jerroms Miller project work, including company reconstructions.
  • Supporting the accounts and audit teams in overseeing VAT for the wider Jerroms practice, to include leading VAT advisory projects (e.g. the VAT aspects of property transactions), assisting with ad hoc queries and reviewing complex VAT returns and reviewing and preparing partial exemption calculations. As well as generally ensuring a high degree of technical competency for those preparing the VAT returns. 

  • Assisting clients with VAT queries, as well as supporting the wider firm with changes in VAT legislation

    Advising clients on international VAT where required, such as registration in overseas territories, whether to charge VAT. etc. (full international VAT knowledge is not a requirement, but some awareness and advisory experience is required).
  • Leading VAT-related enquires.

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Accounting or tax qualification such as CTA or appropriate training and experience such as Inland Revenue and HMRC VAT training. 
  • Relevant post qualification experience and high level of competency in domestic VAT accounting.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of clients effectively and independently, including maintaining relationships with existing clients as well as identifying opportunities for expanding the portfolio. 
  • Ability to manage deadlines.
  • Strong team working, organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and committed to continuous learning and development.
